4/16 Deb

This post is for my Aunt Deb.  While I was remiss in mentioning her in my "I miss" post, I have to say that I have missed her for longer than I've been away.  She helped to raise me.  Was a teacher.  Taught me how to eat peaches and make really good grilled cheese sandwiches.  Was my confidant. And is one of the best writers I know.  Has a brilliant dry sense of humor that I wish was in my life everyday.  Deb, I miss you and wish with all my heart that we can walk and laugh together on the streets of Saigon, Kolkata or even Kathmandu someday very soon;). Love you.

  1. My dearest Amie,

Oh, how I miss you. But I envy you more than I miss you. As I read about your life and your adventures I long to jump into your backpack and experience all that you are living. What a gift you have given to yourself and to all those that are so lucky to be pulled into your travels. What you have learned from me is small in comparison to what I have learned from you. You have taught me to live life to its fullest and embrace all those that come into our lives. You have taught me the true essence of loving people for who they are, and finding the joy in our differences and cultures. You have taught me that you get so much more when you give. Because of you I believe that people are good, and that love does exist in all of us. I love you and miss you more than words can say.

P.S. Here's hoping that your mother and I see you soon!
